CCOHS Puts the Spotlight on Workplace Violence in Health Care at Safety Conference

Charlottetown, PEI (May 1, 2014) — Jessie Callaghan, Senior Technical Specialist at the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) will be sharing her occupational health and safety expertise at an upcoming conference held by the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) of Prince Edward Island.

As a healthcare professional, there are many things to consider regarding workplace violence and its prevention. Jessie Callaghan, Senior Technical Specialist at CCOHS will share what organizations can do to ensure their workplace violence prevention program meets the specific needs of their workplace. Participants will learn what can be done to prevent workplace violence, how to report and respond to incidents, what training employees require, and how to support and follow up with those affected by workplace-related violence.
